Our Parents

Grande Prairie Composite High School and Parents as Partners in Learning

Grande Prairie Composite High School

views our parents/guardians as integral partners to create a welcoming, caring, respectful and safe learning community in which every student succeeds. Working collaboratively with students, parents, and the community allows us to meet individual student needs. Parents/guardians have a responsibility, as outlined in the  Alberta Education Act, to make informed decisions respecting the education of their children. If you have any questions about your child’s education, reach out to their teacher.

Student Learning

In Alberta, Kindergarten to Grade 12 learning is outlined in provincial curriculum. You can access resources to develop an understanding of curriculum and to support student growth and learning:

Getting Involved

Parents/guardians can support their children’s education by “Getting Involved” in the school community. School Council, School Societies, Volunteering, Coaching, and staying in the loop by reading communication and responding to inquiries and surveys are some of the ways to be involved in our school. See “Get Involved” for more information.
